Italy is a treasure chest of art, history, and stunning landscapes. From the iconic ruins of Rome to the beautiful Amalfi coast, every corner tells a story.

An exceptional cruise itinerary frequently features Rome, where you can marvel at Vatican City. On my journey, I was enthralled by the Renaissance art that envelops you at every corner.

Don’t miss trying local dishes, especially fresh seafood and limoncello. I found a wonderful little pasty shop called 'Bar Pasticceria Leone'. They have the best croissants I've EVER tasted. So flakey and buttery - YUM!

Turkey: A Fusion of Cultures

Next, your journey takes you to Turkey, a vibrant country. Our port was Kusadasi (Ephesus).

Cruising along the Turquoise Coast reveals beautiful beaches and ancient sites. Ephesus, for example, is one of the best-preserved ancient cities globally, once home to up to 250,000 people. Walking its marble streets, I felt the echoes of the past, where the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, once stood.

It's important to mention that Ancient Ephesus is a must-see destination but be aware that almost all of the area is covered in marble, making it extremely slippery. Many visitors fell, even when wearing appropriate footwear. Remember this when visiting and take your time by walking slowly and carefully.

The Enchantment of the Greek Islands

The Greek Islands truly are the treasures of the Aegean Sea, each radiating its charm.

Mykonos leaves a strong impression. While known for its lively nightlife, I discovered pleasure in its quaint streets and beautiful beaches. The local tavernas serve dishes that are a must-try—such as moussaka and grilled octopus. Did you know that the Greek diet is often ranked as one of the healthiest in the world? It’s rich in vegetables, fish, and whole grains.
